Our Story
Like all great ideas, Fat Stallion started as a joke. My wife, Rachel, made the mistake of letting me name our 5K team when we registered for a 4th of July family fun-run. I often commit pretty hard to jokes and this one was no different. I made Fat Stallion shirts for everyone. We wore them... and we got comments. We kept wearing them and people wanted to know where they could get them.
There was something about the humor in conjunction with fitness that made people feel like they didn't have to be perfect. It gave them permission to try to get fit without already being fit.
I do not look like I run… and to be fair my run is more of a trudge. We come from families and gene pools that struggle with weight, diabetes, auto-immune issues, depression, anxiety, etc… We know what it’s like to feel like giving up on our health and bodies. We know what it’s like to feel like we don't belong at the gym, trail-head, pilates studio, or on the court. We’re also convinced that being active with people we love is directly connected to our quality of life. So we continue to work and improve. We invite you to join us.
